Hey, all you movie fans! We are blessed with a real gem here in Lewisburg, the Campus Theatre, which opened its doors back in 1941 and is one of the last dwindling numbers of single screen art deco movie palaces in the country. (The whole history of the Campus is found on their website, http://www.campustheatre.org.
The Campus was purchased by Bucknell University and is maintained as a not-for-profit organization and went through a major renovation in 2011 updating major systems and seating, but retained the beautiful art deco paintings and the feel of the original structure.
Today the Campus offers a diverse mix of film programming including popular, fine art and independent films. The theatre is valued by the local community for its social, architectural, cultural and historical aspects of the community.
Free movies are offered by the Campus during the holiday season, some of which appeal to the young (and the young at heart). Come, sit and enjoy what movies used to be like!
Save time to savor some wonderful food at one of our areas finest restaurants, Elizabeth’s – an American Bistro is located directly across from the Campus. Elizabeth’s is a true upscale bistro that serves food made with the freshest of ingredients. Their menu changes seasonally and the expression, “I have never had a bad meal there”, certainly applies! Go to: http://www.elizabethsbistro.com for more information. Come, savor, enjoy. Lewisburg also has many fine shops for finding that special something (more about that in a future post). See you soon here at Copper Beech Manor.
