Miracle on Market Street

holidays in lewisburg.jpg IIYou’ve heard the phrase, “There’s Still a Place”, well…that phrase applies to beautiful downtown Lewisburg, PA!  Here is the first of ten things to do in Lewisburg during the holidays. During the month of December there are many activities and events in the area to tempt even Scrooge.  Lewisburg has an atmosphere that encourages one to slow down and actually enjoy the holidays.

Beginning Friday, December 4 Lewisburg’s quaint shops will be open for “Late Shoppers’ Night” with cookies and hot chocolate often served right on Market Street or in many shops.  It lends a very festive air to begin the shopping season.  For more information and details about the specific shops, restaurants, etc., check out http://www.lewisburgpa.com.

A special holiday exhibit is opening on November 21 at the Packwood House Museum located just off Market St. in downtown Lewisburg.  The exhibit, “Redware and Holiday Exhibit” features redware in all shapes and sizes along with beautiful antique quilts in red and green.  Crafted by Pennsylvania German potters from the late 1600’s to the mid 1800’s, Redware is one of the oldest pottery techniques in the United States.  The Packwood Museum houses one of the largest collections in the region.  The exhibit will run from November 21 to January 9.  See http://www.packwoodhousemuseum.com for more information.

It’s that time of day here at Copper Beech Manor for fresh baked cookies to appear for our guests.  We don’t want to disappoint them.  It’s something to look forward to when you come and visit us.  See you soon.
